Synopsis
It’s really hard to save a guy’s life when he keeps running from you.
You might be asking yourself why I’m waving an inflatable penis in the air and screaming at the top of my lungs. If I took time to explain, Declan Moss would get hit by a bus.
Let me back up. I didn’t ask for this. I was perfectly happy—and perfectly sane—before I was tasked with keeping Declan Moss alive. It was a thankless job until the moment that my panties dropped and his delicious smirk found his way in between my thighs.
Hello, toe-curling ecstasy. Goodbye, professional boundaries. And suddenly, there’s a new danger to avoid: the falling of my heart.
I just finished reading what might be the sweetest romance novel I’ve ever laid my hands on! This book has it all: witty banter, quirky FMC, and an undeniable sexual tension between the FMC and the MMC that had me clutching my pearls, yelling “Holy guacamole!” at my book, and fanning myself to cool down. Yes, folks, it was that steamy!
The conversations between the characters were so well-written that I felt like I was right there with them, eavesdropping on their every word. And, oh boy, whenever Autumn and Declan were in the same room, the chemistry was off the charts! It was like watching two magnets being pulled together, except it wasn’t a magnet but a pure, unadulterated attraction that left me with goosebumps.
Now, here’s the catch. The ending, while a happy one, felt a bit rushed. I mean, the author had spent so much time developing the plot and characters, only to wrap it up in a hurry. I felt like I was on a rollercoaster, and it suddenly came to an abrupt halt. So, I deducted half a star from my rating for the rushed ending.
However, don’t let that discourage you from reading this book. Alessandra Torre is a fantastic novelist, and this book is proof of that. I already added two of her novels to my March TBR pile and can’t wait to read them.
Would I reread this book? Absolutely! Would I recommend it to others? You betcha! I’d rate it 10/10 and recommend it to anyone who loves romance novels. Just be prepared to have your heartstrings tugged, your cheeks hurting from smiling, and your temperature rising from the steamy scenes. It’s worth it, trust me.
