8 Winter-Themed C-Dramas To Watch With Your Family This Holiday

When the nights get colder and it suddenly seems like everywhere is ashy, these are the Chinese dramas you need to snuggle up with.

There’s everything from family dramedys to romantic dramas that would soothe your spirit, so get ready to be hooked.

1. Ashes of Love

This xianxia romance drama set in a world of six realms doesn’t need an introduction because it’s one of the most popular dramas released in the past decade.

It follows the love story of Jin Mi (Yang Zi), a naive and innocent flower fairy, and Xu Feng (Deng Lun), the fire god and crown prince of the Heavenly Realm.

The beautiful scenery and costumes gave it this feeling of being overwhelmingly cuddly and bingeable and you’re going to be hooked.

2. The Story of Ming Lan

Ming Lan (Zhao Liying) is a smart and kind young lady who grows up in a chaotic and patriarchal society.

Soon, she learns to survive and thrive in her family and the court and she also falls in love with Gu Tingye (Feng Shaofeng), a rebellious and loyal general who supports her in her endeavours.

3. Eternal Love of Dream

A spin-off of the popular drama Eternal Love which I mentioned earlier, Eternal Love of Dream focuses on the love story of Bai Fengjiu (Dilraba Dilmurat), the nine-tailed red fox and queen of Qing Qiu, and Dong Hua (Vengo Gao), the former heavenly emperor and the oldest of the five great gods.

They go through three lifetimes of love and separation, facing various enemies and challenges, and trust me when I say this drama has the most stunning visuals, costumes, and music.

4. Winter Night

In this drama, a woman travels to a parallel world where her family and first love are still alive and she faces a dilemma between staying in this world or returning to her own.

Just as the name implies, winter is pretty much a third character in this drama and it’s the perfect winter-themed Chinese drama to snuggle up with today.

5. Flipped

This is a mystery romance drama about a man who can see the past and future of objects and a woman who can flip them over.

They team up to solve crimes and mysteries, as well as their own complicated feelings.

6. Moonshine and Valentine

This time around, a nine-tailed fox falls in love with a human girl who can see his true form and while they have a fate that spans over a thousand years, they must also face many obstacles and enemies.

7. Ever Night

Ever Night is a fantasy adventure drama based on a popular novel of the same name, and it follows the journey of Ning Que (Chen Feiyu), a young man who wants to become a powerful cultivator and protect his maid Sang Sang (Song Yiren), who is the reincarnation of the Ever Night.

If you’re really in the mood for an interesting winter Chinese drama that will light up the holiday season, this is the one for you.

8. The Legend of Hao Lan

This historical romance drama tells the story of Li Hao Lan (Wu Jinyan), a noble lady who becomes a concubine of King Ying Yi Ren (Mao Zijun) of Zhao.

Trust me when that the complex plot, political intrigue, and stunning costumes will keep you glued to your device.
